I’m home! Sorry for the long absence. Dial-up is barbaric and unworkable for blogging. Apple Hill was amazing. As usual, I am exhausted and exhilarated by the experience.
The music at Apple Hill is miraculous. I look forward to playing and listening at Apple Hill more than anywhere else I play all year. I’ll write more about it in the next few days, but for tonight I’ll just say this: Apple Hill makes me want to be a better person. It’s that good.
HOWEVER.
All good things come at a price, and at Apple Hill that price is civilization. For two weeks I’ve been without television, internet, privacy, and dry towels. (I don’t know why, but towels never dry in New Hampshire)
Here are some images of the dreaded Bat Shack.
I have never felt as assaulted by nature as I did this year at Apple Hill. Once I moved out of the Bat Shack, I had to make peace with some comparably innocuous mice- and the mosquitoes were vicious. Even when the temperature was reasonably non-hellacious, the humidity kept us clammy and bloated.
Fortunatly, the food at Apple Hill is delicious- some of the best meals I eat all year. Good food makes up for a LOT.
Plus, I’m willing to admit that nature can have its pretty moments.
Now, I have five days in Buffalo and then it is off to play in the Sun Valley Summer Symphony in Idaho. I intend to do some intense sleeping tonight, and some rigorous television watching tomorrow.

welcome home kitten :)
so glad to have you back.
Welcome back, Kitty. We missed you!
Oh my god, I am SO GLAD that you’re back. It was cruel and unusual to log in to bloglines and find Oh For Fun! not in bold for so long. You take great pictures, by the way. That sunset is Oh For Pret! I love that the bat shack is Respighi. I think that’s somehow fitting. We need to get on the horn and YAMMER sometime during the next five days.
XOXOXoxxxooxoxO!
yes there is some serious YAMMERING TO BE DONE on all accounts. Maybe a three way in in order :)
not that kind! no sex in pepto!!!!!!!!!
hahahahahahaha
